2008 UK Open Darts Preview

Contestants already flagged as favorites

If you enjoy doing sports while enjoying a cool beer and having a laugh, then Darts is the perfect game for you. It is very probable that at some point in a man’s life, he will probably have a go at throwing a dart at a board at a pub somewhere. The best part is that players are your average Joe, simply enjoying a game of darts while (hopefully) making some dollars in the process.

The next major dart tournament, the 2008 UK Open is on its way and will be beginning in early June. Although there still are a couple of months ahead, betting sites are already working full steam and the odds of players have been more or less established.

Phil Taylor from England is the favorite so far; on the second line of betting is Big Dutchman along with Raymond van Barneveld. On the third line of betting is James “The Machine” Wade, who earlier this year was the first player ever to beat Phil Taylor in the Premier League of Darts. Considering this is a sport where players don’t reach their peak until they are in their 40’s, young 24 year old James Wade promises much for his future and also gives the sport a new feeling overall.

So remember this June to tune into the UK Open Darts, kick back, relax, and hopefully make a few hundred dollars while doing so. And don’t forget to have a try at the dartboard at the old bar down the street, as maybe one day you could get good at it and end up betting on yourself!
